Linda L. Geisse

We lost a mom, nanny, sister, aunt, friend and an amazing lady, Linda Geisse.

Linda, age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 30th, 2026. She was born on September 19th, 1942 in Newton, Iowa to Dale and Mary Jane Barnhill.

Throughout her life, she was the person who opened her heart, her home (and her kitchen!) to all. Linda graduated from Alliance High School. She worked as a cook at Hippity Hop Restaurant and later retired from Republic Steel.

Linda was an avid Cleveland sports fan holding Browns season tickets for over 30 years with Phil and organized the best tailgate parties! She attended many Indians, Cavs and Mount Union Football games with family and friends. She also looked forward to the weekly euchre games with friends and family and loved to make blankets for all to snuggle with.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lora Oyster and Lee Geisse (Dan Hildman); grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, and Mary Oyster (James Laisure); sister, Lana Sweet; along with so many wonderful friends and “family”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Phillip; son-in-law, Steven Oyster; and brother-in-law, Jack Sweet.

A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Atwater Cemetery.
