Kerlin J. Arbaugh, age 76, of Alliance, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at his home.
He was born May 16, 1936, in Cherry Grove, WV, to Karl and Madge (Newcomb) Arbaugh.
Kerlin attended Sebring High School and was a member of the Maximo Zion Church, where he was a former trustee. He played guitar with 5th Alliance for many years, enjoyed collecting guitars and cars, and was a member of the Teamster Union of Akron.
He retired from Central Transport Trucking after 12 years of service and then was the founder and owner of Arbaugh Mini Storage. A U.S. Army veteran, Kerlin served with the 25th Division.
Survivors include two daughters; Candy (Christopher Kirkpatrick) Arbaugh and Cindy (Mark) Taylor of Alliance, four grandchildren; Janson, Meredith, Madison and Gretchen (Jason Carroll), one great-granddaughter, Jocelyn; and many nieces and nephews.
Kerlin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arvie Glen Wimer and sister, Linda Lou Barker.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday September 5, 2012 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor David Ashbrook officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday September 4, 2012 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 Sawburg Rd., Ste. 106, Alliance, OH 44601.
