Kayann Stockli, age 81, of Deerfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully, while in hospice care, after a brief and sudden illness, on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Edwin Stockli of 60 years and her three children.
Kayann was born in Columbiana County on April 4, 1941 to the late Shyrl and Betty Lee Rhoads, and was raised on the farm her parents managed with her two brothers, Howard and the late Harrold Rhoads. She had such a love of the country that she incorporated this love into her own home as a homemaker and was very active within the farming community. Kayann was very involved with the band booster for Southeast High School while her children were active in school and never missed a band show or sporting event for any of her children.
Because of her love of family, Kayann became a long-time member of the TAGS Genealogy Society of Alliance and was the correspondence secretary for the group and this became her passion. She spent many years traveling, researching and cataloging genealogy for others but especially for her family.
She also was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for over 60 years teaching Sunday School, along with numerous other church responsibilities.
Surviving Kayann is her loving husband, Edwin Stockli; her devoted children, Chondra (Paul) Fassnacht of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Shyrl Lynn (David) Scanlan, Toledo, OH and son Eric (Janet) Stockli of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Howard (Connie) Rhoads of Sebring, OH, eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Alliance Thursday, June 2nd at 11 A.M. with a visitation two hours prior. Reverend Tim Muse will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, her husband asks those who wish to donate to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3295 S Union Ave, Alliance, OH 44601.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home 75 South Union Ave Alliance, Ohio 44601.
