Kathryn V. (Thomas) Eyer, age 94, of Alliance, passed away at 2:20 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at her home with her family and her aid by her side.
She was born March 2, 1918, in Alliance, Ohio, to Paul and Ruth (Potts) Thomas.
Kathryn and her husband, Bill, started grade school together, and they both graduated in June of 1936 from Alliance High School. She attended Kent State University and was a member of the Quota Club and business manager of the YWCA for many years. She loved to travel and made numerous trips to Europe, Great Britain, Africa and most of the United States.
Kathryn and "her Bill" were married for 73 years and raised two sons, Robert Eyer, and William Eyer, III.
Kathryn loved animals and always had a dog, cat or both around her home. She loved music, shows, reading and socializing with her neighbors.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Eyer, Jr. of Alliance, whom she married September 1, 1939; son, William J. Eyer III of New Franklin; six grandchildren, William (Bonnie), Terry, and Tracy Baxter, Matt, Jon and Nicole O'Hara of Canton; and cousins, Charles and Susan Schultz of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Robert Eyer.
