Karl Kuntze

Karl Kuntze, age 98, passed away on March 22, 2026, in the home where he lived for 66 years.

He was born July 27, 1927, in Alliance, Ohio.

Karl served in the Merchant Marines and the Army during occupied Japan.

He was a machinist and pattern maker by trade, but as “Grandpa”, he could fix anything.

Karl was a charter member of Lexington Grange and attended Aldersgate Methodist Church for 40 years.

Karl and his wife, Leoma Murphy Kuntze, loved to travel and visited 49 of the 50 states. He loved to camp, canoe and ride bicycles. He was the undisputed King of shuffleboard when he wintered in Ocala, FL. He met with lifelong friends every Wednesday for breakfast.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Kuntze; three siblings; and his beloved wife, Leoma Murphy Kuntze whom he married on October 21, 1950.

He is survived by two children, Ken (Mindy) Kuntze and Lori Mowry.

He will be missed by his five grandsons, Kenny and Kyle Kuntze, Don, Curt and Tyler Mowry; and six great-grandchildren, Mason, Harper, Colson and Eva Mowry, and Ashlyn and Jaxon Kuntze.

Visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday March 28th from 9:30-10:30am with service starting at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice.
