Karen Butler

Karen “Toots” Butler, age 72, of Alliance, passed away peacefully with her mother and daughters by her side on January 18, 2022.

She was born on August 10, 1949 in Alliance to Henry Herzog and Norma (Morrison) McFerren.

Karen was the site coordinator for Meals on Wheels in Alliance for over 25 years and loved her work. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of The Thomas A. Mangino Vietnam Veterans Chapter 157. Karen enjoyed crocheting and volunteering in her community especially with the Vietnam Veterans. More than anything, she loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother; her husband of over 50 years, Kenny Butler; her children, Marla Albert, Stacy Shreiner, Laine Shreiner, and Kendra Butler; step-sons, Paul (Patty) Butler, Kenny (Kathy) Butler, and Kevin (Sarah) Butler; grandchildren, Dalton Albert, Dylan Albert, Austin Butler, Riley Newell, Stephanie Lentz, Katy Butler, Josh Butler, Jennifer Hart, Jessica Gorden, Courtney Mick, and Jared Butler; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Darrel (Whitey) Herzog, Kelly (Corena) Albert and Kathy Young; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Annie Mae..

She was preceded in death by her father.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home Sunday, January 23rd at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. Bob Dillon will officiate.
