Joseph Valentine, age 87 of Alliance, died at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at Community Care Center.
He was born July 18, 1918 in Canton, Ohio to Silvia and Edith (Gottardi) Valentine and lived most of his life in Marlboro.
Mr. Valentine attended the former Marlboro High School, and was the former owner of Valentine Electric, until his retirement in 1964.
He was a member of the Marlboro Lions Club, Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department and was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.
Survivors include his children, Glenna Datkuliak of Louisville, David Valentine of Uniontown, Karen Rose of Hartville; grandsons, Joey Hall of Marlboro, Jeff Datkuliak of Chicago, and Gary Datkuliak of Denver, granddaughter, Tara Rouse of Louisville, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Valentine of St. Petersburg, and one sister, Virginia Heddelston of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Clara Barth, one grandson, Michael Valentine, and his wife, Relda (Givens) whom he married July 20, 1940 and who died Oct. 30, 2004.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department, which the family would like to give a special thanks to.
