Joseph Edward Roberts, age 87, of Alliance, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
He was born October 31, 1924, in Alliance, to Richard and Bertha (Moore) Roberts and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
Joseph was a 1942 graduate of Alliance High School, vice president of engineering at Worldco Corporation in Alliance, and previously employed by the former Alliance Machine Company.
He was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
Survivors include his companion and dear friend, Nancy Green of Alliance; sons and daughters, Bill (Dee) Roberts of W. Salem; Carolyn (David) Reed of Wooster, Ron (Kathy) Roberts of Canton; Gary (Sally) Roberts of Sebring; Deb Roberts (Foyn McDevitt) of Rocky River and Jodi (Jay) Fisher of E. Canton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bertha Roberts and Myrtle (William) Householder; and brother, Dave Roberts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Edinburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Rd., Suite 106, Alliance, OH, 44601 or to the Community Care Center 200 E. State St., Alliance, OH 44601.
