John Lewis Wheeler, age 91, passed away on September 11, 2023.
He was born on April 7, 1932, in Fleshing, Ohio, to Cecil J. and Lela (Foreman) Wheeler.
John worked as a maintenance welder for Ford Motor Company, Canton Forge, B&W Rush St. and Maritime Boat Company. He retired in 1994 with over 25 years of experience. John then purchased Alliance Table and Chairs.
He was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council. John was also a member of the Alliance Elks, was an avid bowler since 1948 and served honorably in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Marlene J. (Sineri) Wheeler; sons, Larry L. (Janice) Wheeler and John D. (Lynn) Wheeler; daughter, Lori L. (Ken) Hatton; five grandchildren, Teri (Chris), Andrea (John), Megan (Matt), Joshua (Katy), Zachary (Bridgette), Alex, and Krista; great-grandchildren, Meyer, Macklin, Emilia, Mazel, and Davey; brother, Bill Wheeler; sister-in-law Carol Wheeler; brother-in-law, Sonny Percy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Richard Wheeler, Donald Wheeler, Harold Wheeler, Ted Wheeler, Gene Wheeler, Bob Wheeler, and Donna Jean Percy.
A funeral service will be held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church on Friday, September 15th at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call from 10:00-11:30. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
