Joan E. Thomas

Joan Ellen Thomas, age 78, of Alliance, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Bel Air Care Center with Aultman/Alliance Hospice Care.   She was born January 28, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to William Church and Laura (Hollingsworth) Church Banks.

Joan was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall and enjoyed going out in ministry and cooking.

Survivors include her daughter, Charish (Jada) Pride; sons, Lewis (Andrea) Jackson and Aaron Avery (Shannon) Thomas; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Johnson and Audrey (Orlando) Boykin; and brothers, William Church, Thomas (Crystal) Church, Barry (Danease) Church and Louis Banks Jr; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother; Robert L. Banks, and her husband, Logan B. Thomas, whom she married June 14, 1979, and who died June 23, 2019.

Per Joan’s wishes, there will be no services.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
