Joan M. Oyster

Joan M. Oyster, age 84, of Alliance, passed away on August 12, 2022.

She was born on August 1, 1938 in Louisville to Henry Yost and Beatrice (Linder) Yost Eaton.

Joan graduated from Alliance High School in 1956. She worked for the Alliance Review and Coastal Pet. Joan also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Alliance Community Hospital. She was a member of Science Hill Community Church and the Science Hill School Historical Society.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Herbert R. Oyster; sons, Randy (Laurie) Oyster and Brian (Jody) Oyster; her daughters, Theresa (Chris) Marks and Brenda (Harry) Lowers; nine grandchildren, Jenny, Jason, Christopher, Nicholas, Brittany, Nathan, Amanda, Alisha and Cody; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Judith, Aidan, Nathanial, Miya, Madeline, Lilah, Alexander, Sadie, Westyn, Lily, Zachary, Cora, Gabriella, Elisabella, Theodore and Leonard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Chester Eaton; sisters, Jean Miller and Marilyn White; and brothers, Melvin Yost and Edwin Yost.

A funeral service will be held at Science Hill Community Church on Tuesday, August 16th at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Truax officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:30-4:00 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be held Wednesday morning.
