Jerry Lee Maye, age 80, passed away while surrounded by family and friends on Friday, December 26, 2025.
He was born on May 9, 1945 in Upper Glade, WV, to Carry C. and Anna O. (Murphy) Maye.
A graduate of Cowen High School, Jerry drove truck for many years prior to becoming a machinist for the Ford Motor Company, where he retired. He often said he has done more miles in reverse than many have done in forward.
Jerry attended church at Maranatha Ministries as well as being a member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge #271.
He enjoyed the small things in life, such as going to McDonalds with his wife to get a Frappe and people watch. He also enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and collecting hats and cowboy boots.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sandra (Tucker) Maye; daughter, Joy Lautzenheiser; grandchildren, Cody (Carli) Lautzenheiser, Anissa (Brenden) DeSanzo, and Madison (Dale) Miller; great-grandchildren, Rowen and Reese Lautzenheiser and Blakely Miller; and brother-in-law, Butch Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris Maye; son, Michael Maye; daughter, Melinda Maye; brother, Charles Maye; sister, Barbara Jean (Bobby) Detamore; and son-in-law, Dale Lautzenheiser.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
