Janice M. Scott

Janice M. Scott, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2026, after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.

She was born on September 21, 1948, in Alliance, to Grover and Jean (Manypenny) Bigham.

Janice graduated from Alliance High School and attended secretarial school in Minerva. She worked as a secretary for the Alliance City Schools. Janice grew up attending Alliance First Friends Church and later Science Hill United Church of Christ.

She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Janice also loved to garden, especially planting marigolds in her front garden.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Shayna (Michael) Bowling and Brenna (Matthew) Caley; five grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon and Owen Bowling and Audrey and Isabelle Caley; sister, Barbara (Thom) Richardson; brother, Fred (Linda) Bigham; and nephews, Fred (Christa) and Steve (Mardee) Bigham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Shayne Scott; and sister-in-law, Sherry Roessler.

A private family service will be held.

The family is grateful for the love and care she received at Canterbury Villa, as well as the Aultman Hospice Care Team.
