Jane L. Hamrick, age 78, of Chagrin Falls, formerly of Alliance, died at 3:15 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Arden Courts in Chagrin Falls.
She was born July 13, 1934, in Spencer, West Virgina, to Jim O'Brien and Pearl (Stotts) O'Brien, the youngest of nine children.
Mrs. Hamrick received her Bachelor's degree from Kent State University. An excellent teacher who taught elementary school and remedial reading, she taught at Alliance, Marlington and Regina Coeli Schools.
She attended Methodist churches in Alliance and was a member of the Alliance Country Club and the Elks.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Frank) Ulle of LeRoy; son, David (Denise) Hamrick of Clyde; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dr. R.G. Hamrick whom she married August 24, 1952 and who died March 20, 1992.
A private family service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 with Rev. Joel Cochran of the Chapel in Marlboro officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the R.G. Hamrick Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Alliance High School Foundation, P.O. Box 3123, Alliance OH, 44601
