James B. Crites

James B. Crites, age 93, passed away on December 12, 2022.

He was born on December 28, 1928, in Moundsville, WV, to Eric H. and Mary Josephine Crites.

As a young boy he and his family moved to Charleston, WV where his siblings, twins, Joyce and Eric and Mary Jo were born.

He attended Charleston High School where he played football and was a member of student council.

Jim attended a number of colleges eventually graduating with a degree in ministry.  He ministered to churches in Chelyan, WV, Cattletsburg, KY and Rule, TX.

After leaving the ministry he went to work for the government until his retirement when he returned to Charleston, WV.

Jim was cared for there by his younger sister, Mary Jo and in 2017 he became ill and entered into the Homestead at Gentlebrook.  There he was cared for by his brother Eric until his passing.  He was dearly loved by the residents and staff there.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Susan Crites.

A memorial service was held on December 20, 2022 at Marlboro Christian Church.
