Isabelle M. Stoia, age 87, of Alliance, died at 5:05 p.m., Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born January 4, 1925, in Virginia, Minnesota, to Pasquale and Maria (Rozzi) Pazzelli.
A 1942 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Virginia, MN, Isabelle graduated in 1948 from the former Alliance City Hospital School of Nursing, before retiring after working as a Registered Nurse for 39 years in the OB Department.
Mrs. Stoia was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Alliance Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two children, Michael (Gale) Stoia, of San Marcos, CA and Rita Lyn (Jeff) Eagle, of Solon, OH; two grandchildren, Joseph Gramc and Jaclyn Eagle; and therapy granddog, Stretch; one sister, Amelia Zaitz, of Chisholm, MN; and daughter-in-law, Melanie Stoia of Florida.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her son, Marc; parents; three brothers, Victor, Bruno and Molio; and four sisters, Dena Workman, Jessie Edwards, Rose Hanson, and Virginia Rouleau.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with the Rev. Kip Colgrove of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Virginia, Minnesota.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Mercy Hospital Medical Center and Mercy Hospice for their caring support in her final days.
Isabelle requested memorial contributions to be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society PO Box 4527, New York, NY, 10163.
