Alliance

Ina Louise Sutton, age 93, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.

She was born on April 16, 1928 in Hall County, Nebraska, the second of eight children born to Forrest Elmer Erb and Elma Clara (Lehman) Erb.

Ina graduated from Sterling High School in Sterling, Illinois and earned her Registered Nurse degree form Aultman School of Nursing in Canton, Ohio. Over the years she worked as and RN at Aultman Hospital in Canton and as Dr. Frank Lindsay’s Nurse in Homeworth, Ohio. Ina was a member of Alliance Salem United Methodist Church. Ina and Howard Sutton were married on August 14, 1965 in Paris, Ohio. They enjoyed traveling through 46 states. Ina loved to cook, bake, garden and most of all quilt. She could do anything on her sewing machine, but hand quilting was her passion. We could fill a museum with all of her exquisite creations.

Ina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mentor, who was loved and respected by all who knew her. She loved her family so much, as we love her.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Dan) England of Paris, Ohio; her son, Jeff (Joyce) Sutton of Mesa, Arizona; four grandsons, Nathan England, Adam England, Jesse (Emily) Sutton of Mesa, Arizona and Jason Sutton; two great-granddaughters, CaliAnn England and Katie Lynn England; two great-grandsons, Jamison Sutton and Aiden Sutton; one sister, Vioda Geyer of North Canton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Virgene Erb of College Station, TX; and brother-in-law, Richard (Ann) Sutton of Minerva, Ohio.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Howard E. Sutton, who died April 25, 2019; three sisters, Beulah Driscoll, Shirley Erb, Donna Haas; and three brothers, Dean Erb, Arlyn Erb and John Erb.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ina’s family would like to thank the compassionate staff of Aultman Alliance Community Hospital for their loving care, especially Dr. Debra Lehrer; Ina’s Alliance Salem United Methodist Church family and Pastor Neil Orchard; and the staff of Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 South Union Ave Alliance, Ohio 44601, who are entrusted with the arrangements.
