Ina C. (Scotty) Hays

Ina C. 'Scotty' (McCreadie) Hays, age 98, of Alliance, passed away at 3:22 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2016, at Danbury Woods.
She was born May 17, 1918, in Airdrie, Scotland, to Alexander and Williamina (Cuthbertson) McCreadie.
Ina had worked at Alliance Manufacturing and retired as manager from AME Credit Union after 30 years.
She had attended First Christian Church in Alliance and for many years enjoyed bowling.
Ina was a member of the Friends of the Park and was instrumental in raising funds for Mainwaring Chapel at Alliance City Cemetery and had started the cemetery tours during Carnation Days in the Park. She was also a member of the Democratic Club, AARP, and the Alliance Area Senior Center.
Her survivors include daughter, Jean Hays of Amherst; granddaughter, Holly Jean Hays; two great-grandchildren, Leia Hays, and Jacob Hays, all of Elizabethton, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Hays Jr. whom she married January 17, 1943 and who passed away in 2008; son, John A. Hays, who passed away in 2013; sisters, Jean Davis, Margaret Anderson Michalk and Elizabeth McCreadie; and brother, Alexander.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery at a later date.
