Gretchen Johnson

Gretchen L. Johnson, age 72, of Alliance, died at 12:25 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born June 17, 1940, in Alliance, to Robert L. and Betty (Gardner) Schopp.
Gretchen was a graduate of Alliance High School. She was a receptionist for Dr. Whitmer for many years and worked at Mid-States Wool Growers.
She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and loved attending the Ohio State Fair.
You never had to think about what she was thinking, because she would tell you. Her family was a top priority throughout her life, and loved her kids and grandkids with all her heart. She will be missed.
Survivors include her sons, Walt (Connie) Johnson of Minerva, Doug Johnson of Lisbon, and Kurt Johnson of Richmond; daughter, Lynn Johnson of Alliance; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Schopp of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will be held. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
