Golden Richard Engle

Golden “Butch” Richard Engle, age 92, passed away on September 16, 2023.

He was born on April 12, 1931, in Beloit, Ohio, to Golden J. and Doris (Webber) Engle.

Butch enlisted in the United States Army when he was 17 years old. He was a Sgt. First Class and earned a Korean Service Medal, six Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart. Butch worked in Dr. Hirst’s office for 40 years doing maintenance. He was a member of East Goshen Friends Church and was a licensed Minister of the Nazarene Church. He served as minister at Roselawn for five years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Florence (McKnight) Engle whom he married July 12, 1953; his son, Terry Lee Engle; step-son, William Smith; three granddaughters, Angela, Lori, and Erica; nine great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Donna Jean Thomas and Carol Drake.

A graveside service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park on Friday, September 22nd at 11:00 a.m.
