Gerald "Jerry" R. Summers, age 66, of Alliance, died at 2:01 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at home.
He was born May 16, 1940 in Alliance to Raymond and Gertrude Mae (Obney) Summers and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Summers attended Alliance Public schools and was formerly employed by Transue and Williams Forging and later for Press Works in Alliance.
Jerry was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Alliance. He was Red Cross blood donor and was a certified life guard for the YMCA.
He was a U. S. Army Vietnam Veteran.
Jerry is survived by his two sons, Justin A. Summers of Alliance and Aaron D. (Jill) Summers of Sebring; eight grandchildren; one brother Ronald (Sally) Summers of Conway, SC and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; sisters Carol Nolan and Shirley Givens and brother Earl D. Summers.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Alliance Baptist Temple with Pastor Randy Payne officiating.
