Gary DePrill Sr.

October 6, 1953 — January 6, 2023

Gary DePrill Sr., age 69, passed away on January 6, 2023.

He was born on October 6, 1953 to the late Joann (Moore) McMillin-Goshorn.

He graduated in 1972 from Alliance High School. He looked forward going to class reunions and breakfasts. Although small in stature, he had a huge heart and would light up the room with his smile and dancing skills.

He was employed through GardaWorld Security Company where he was doing security at Alliance Castings. Gary served honorably in the United States Navy. He was a member of Marlboro Christian Church.

Gary was an avid book reader who also loved sports, especially football and baseball. He had a passion for Boy Scouts and the outdoors. Gary loved to socialize and joke around. He loved seeing his friends tailgating for Mount Union football games. One could find him bowling on Monday nights at the American Legion in Alliance or having coffee with his buddies at Get-Go. His favorite place was the Naborhood Inn where he could get the famous “hood burger” and a cold beverage while visiting with friends and the awesome staff whom he referred to as his ‘daughters’.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gary DePrill Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Kara DePrill; his siblings, William Perry McMillin, John Goshorn, Kevin Goshorn, Cindy Cross, Brenda McPherson, Bobby DePrill, Paul DePrill, Candy DePrill, and their spouses; many nieces and nephews; the Marschinke family; and all of his friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his father figures, John W. Goshorn and Richard McMillin Sr.; grandmother, Helen Severance; a brother, Richard “Rick” McMillin Jr.; a sister, Karen Henry; and his biological father, Robert DePrill.
