Edwin G. Cassidy

Edwin G. Cassidy, age 80, of Alliance, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center.

He was born on December 6, 1941 in Canton to Edwin Paul “Jiggs” and Velma (Grimm) Cassidy.

Edwin graduated from Alliance High School in 1960 and then attended drafting school where he obtained an associate’s degree.   Edwin worked as a salesman as Shanafelt Manufacturing in Canton until his retirement. He was a member of the Shriner’s and the Alliance Elks.

Edwin was an avid golfer and loved taking care of his yard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Monique Newman and Shaun (Autumn) Cassidy; three grandchildren, Zach, Ethan and Keegan; and a sister, Laura Raynor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Karen (Sedei) Cassidy.

A celebration of life will be held at the Alliance Elks on Wednesday, June 22nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children, Erie, Att: Child Life,  1645 W. 8th St. Erie, PA 16505.
