Edna M. Edwards

Edna M. Edwards, age 86, of Alliance, passed away peacefully at Aultman Hospital October 27, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester G. Kuntzman and Corinne A. (Ramsey) Kuntzman, and her sister, Shirley Kuntzman Jordan-Boyd.

After graduation from Alliance High School (Class of 1954), Edna was employed in the office of Dr. K.E. Reighard. She retired from Alliance Community Hospital after 20 years of service in Admitting and Outpatient Registration.

She was a lifelong member of First Immanuel United Church in Alliance.

Edna leaves three children left to cherish her memory, Vickie L.  Edwards of Alliance, Karen S. (Peter) Bendt of Franklin, PA, and son, Robert E. (Richelle) Edwards of Minerva, OH; two grandsons, Christopher Bendt of Cleveland, OH and Hunter Edwards of Minerva, OH; one niece and four nephews.

After retiring, Edna took line dancing lessons at the AASC, bowled mixed couples league, and morning leagues. As a family, they raised and showed P.OA. Ponies for many years.

Edna belonged to the Alliance Senior Center and AARP Chapter 2630. She played cards with the Marlboro Ladies, and had become an exceptional Tole Painter in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and made a large following over the years of family, friends and customers who added to their collection of holiday and everyday unique items, including ironing boards, fireplace screens and Santa’s.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until Noon on Tuesday, November 1st at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.

Private interment will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park.
