Earlene Dailey, née Thurmond, age 69, of Alliance, Ohio, peacefully made her transition and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic, following an extended illness.
Earlene was born on June 28, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Earl Cecil Thurmond and Mary Lee Thurmond, née Jones. She was a proud graduate of Marlington High School, Class of 1974. Throughout her life, Earlene held various jobs and worked diligently until her health no longer permitted her to continue.
Above all else, Earlene had a deep and abiding love for God, her family and friends. She was known for her caring heart, aggressive spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Not to mention her ability to be strongly opinioned unapologetically (if you know you know). Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength, and her memory will forever be cherished.
Earlene leaves to cherish her loving memory her three children, Jolean LaShelle Dailey and Justin Earl Dailey, both of Alliance, Ohio, and Talitha Elaine Dailey of Canton, Ohio; nine beloved grandchildren, Cainin De’Monte Jones, Stacia Maylean Jones, Donielle Nicole Jones, Jusyre Eriq Dailey, Jurzee E’Rae Dailey, Malani Ann Williams, Lennox Jade Dailey, Kaizen Jasai Dailey, and Kemonte Truce Dailey; one sister, Charlietha Elaine Thurmond; goddaughters, Kimberly Smith and Lovely Edwards; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and honorary children/grandchildren; and special friends, Maria Johnson, Boopey Dixon, Linda Andrews, Carmen Gattis, Wilma Roach, and Clifford Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Joseph Te Dailey Jr.; twin grandsons, Torrence Joseph Dailey and Tristan Cecil Dailey; brothers, Earl Cecil Thurmond Jr. and Ronald Allen Jones; special friends, Francella Williams and Carla Royster; and her cherished aunt, Mary Tyus.
Earlene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love will live on through her family and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, Ohio 44601.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at New Zion Baptist Church, 1135 E. Jersey St., Alliance, Ohio 44601, with Pastor W. Max Millender officiating.
Friends will be received at the family home. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all of those who lovingly cared for Earlene during her illness especially Doctor Brian Mandel, her Rheumatologist from the Cleveland Clinic since 1993 and Anyia Kimbrought.
