Earl C. Thurmond

Earl C. “Rocky” Thurmond Jr., age 64, of Alliance, departed this life Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center.

Earl was born June 30, 1958, in Alliance, Ohio to the late Earl C. Thurmond Sr. and Mary Lee (Jones) Thurmond.

Rocky attended Marlington High School and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. He accepted God as his Savior at a young age.

Rocky was a Jack of All Trades, who would help anyone with anything. His heart was a big as he was.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Joseph Thurmond, Marie Holly, Earl C. “Quido” Thurmond III, Zackery Thurmond, Jordan (Janice) Thurmond, Tamar Lawson, Marshelle McElroy, Nicole McElroy and Brian Thurmond; grandchildren; Eizec Blackwell,  Mosiya McElroy, Avery Martin, Musyk Thurmond, Nasir ‘nas’ Thurmond, Mariah Thurmond, Marcus Boggs, Karter Thurmond, De’Markes Thurmond, Aliana “allie” Blackwell, Brandon ’bubba’ Blackwell Jr., his siblings, Ronald “Ronnie” A. Jones, Earlene Dailey and Charlietha E. Thurmond; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his first wife, Jacquelyn Yolanda Thurmond.

Services will be held at Noon Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Earl will be laid to rest next to his parents at Mount Union Cemetery.
