Duane H. Zorger

Duane H. Zorger Sr., age 94, of Alliance, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

He was born in Massillon on April 26, 1927 to Russell G. and Thelma (Schooley) Zorger.

Duane graduated from Louisville High School in 1945. He was a Postal  Worker at the Canton office and formerly worked for B&W Tubular. After his retirement, Duane worked for Coastal Pet. He served honorably in the United States Army Air Corp. Duane was a member of Marlboro Christian Church and attended Friendship Sunday School Class. He was an active Marlboro Volunteer and a Mason. Duane also served on the Alliance Memorial Day Committee and helped place flags and wreaths on the graves of Veterans.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Duane Jr. (Patty) Zorger; daughter, Diane Oaks; grandson, Joseph D. Zorger; great-grandchildren, Christina, Zabrina, Cassie and Drake; and great-great-grandchildren, Bruce and Eliza.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille J. (Headley) Zorger, whom he married November 10, 1950 and who died March 31, 2018; his grandson, Jason; and his brother, Russell.

Services will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday, February 5th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Ed Harnish and Ed Carter officiating.

Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
