Dorothy Jean Sampson, nee Myers, age 91, died on April 21, 2009 at her home in Deerfield, Ohio.
She was born on February 26, 1918 in Youngstown, Ohio, to John Pemberthy and Nora (Curl) Myers. She graduated from Scienceville High School in 1935 and was married to Donald Thomas Sampson of Deerfield on March 22, 1937, where they resided their entire life. Donald preceded her in death in 2001.
Mrs. Sampson was a life member of the Deerfield Historical Society and attended Palmyra United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Palmy Chapter #114 of Deerfield and member of the Deerfield Dandies.

Surviving are two sons, Donald, Jr. (Sally) of Deerfield and Richard (Mary Jane) of New Baltimore; six grandchildren, Donald T., Rhys, Charlie, John, David and Carrie; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Hannah Kinsey of Port Lavaca, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald T. Sampson; brothers, William Earl Myers, John Roy Myers; and a sister Betty Chrystal.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Beggs and Rev. John Gelnett co-officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Thursday and one hour prior to the service. Order of Eastern Star Services will be held at 5:45 p.m. Thursday by Palmy Chapter #114 OES of Deerfield. Interment will be at Deerfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S.
