Dorothy E. Huffman, age 83, of Alliance, passed away at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at McCrea Manor.
She was born June 8, 1929 in Canton, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Vesta (Lloyd) Green.
Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School and employed by the JC Penney Company as a clerk and by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company.
A member of the Lexington United Methodist Church, Dorothy was also active with Vine Street United Methodist Church. She was in charge of the weekly prayer group, taught Sunday school classes, was active in the Esther Circles and helped prepare funeral dinners. She also enjoyed reading and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Huffman, Sr., whom she married on August 17, 1947; her three daughters, Betty Jo (Earl) Blevins, Ruth Springer, both of Alliance and June (Richard) Billings of Clarkston, MI.; son Robert (Jolene) Huffman, Jr. of Sebring; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Rachel Huffman LaNave.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Price officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday March 11, 2013 and one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
