Doris F. Mitchell, age 92, passed away on May 3, 2025.
She was born on September 11, 1932, in Yellow Creek, PA to Harvey and Alice (Ritchey) Clark.
Doris met her husband, Dennis Mitchell at Cogan’s Diner in Everett, PA. She worked as a waitress until her family started to get larger. Doris moved to Ohio with her husband and 8 children in 1967. When her children were older, Doris went to school and became a nurse. She worked at Mapleview Nursing Home in Louisville.
Doris wrote notes for many years that she eventually converted into a devotional that she called ‘When I Am Weak’ By Doris Mitchell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dennis; eight children, Dennis Henry (Kathy) Mitchell, Kathy (Hary) Rittenhouse, Samuel (Karen) Mitchell, Ed (Kim) Mitchell, Andy (Lisa) Mitchell, Belinda Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, and Alice (Mike) Satow; twenty-one grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, May 8th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday May 9th from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
