David W. Walker

David W. Walker, age 65, of Alliance passed away at Aultman Alliance Hospital on December 7, 2021.

He was born on February 21, 1956 in Chicago Heights, IL to Walter W. Walker and Beverly (Builte) Thornton.

David graduated from Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, IL and went on to attend a two year Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam era.

David was the owner of Walker Painting for 35 years, beautifying the Alliance Area with his quality work and craftsmanship. He was a former member of the Alliance Republican Club and a current member of the American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Alliance Area Preservation Society (Haines House). He was a founding member of the Alliance Christian Center in 1978 and the Christ Connection Church in Louisville in 2019.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother; his wife, Karen M. (Beres) Walker, whom he married in Security, CO on July 9, 1977; his sons, Thaddeus B. (Tabitha) Walker and their children, Titus, Apollos and Joanna; Nathaniel J. (Jessica) Walker and their daughter, Rachel; and David James (Jin) Walker; his sister, Kathy Urban-Goodwin; his brother, Lawrence W. Walker; and his step-brother, Anthony Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Susan D. Fenn; step-father, Merle A. Thornton; and brothers-in-law, Anton E. Urban and Richard Goodwin.

A funeral service will be held at Alliance Christian Center (670 W. Main St, Alliance, OH) on Saturday, December 11th at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. Pastor Kirk Martin will officiate.
