Dale C. Augustine, age 87, of Alliance, passed away at 4:10 p.m., January 19, 2014, at his home.
He was born May 19, 1926, in Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, to Charles A. and Alice L. (Dornon) Augustine.
Dale was a heavy equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and a machinist for Chester Hoist Company in Lisbon until his retirement. He also retired from Walmart in 2008.
Dale was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lisbon. He enjoyed camping and square dancing.
Survivors include his wife, Gail (Miller) Augustine of Alliance, whom he married in 1992; daughters, Linda (Walter Snyder) of Hanoverton, Donna (Dennis) Snyder of Salem, Diana (Olie, Jr.) Moyer of N. Canton and Peggy (Tim Sarzier) Morrow of Raleigh, North Carolina; son, Charles Augustine of Durant, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Lois M. (Mollenkopf) Augustine; son, David; granddaughter, Dawn Snyder; great-grandson, Zachary Heider; two sisters, Betty Jane Mountz and Margaret Ewing; and a brother, John A. Augustine.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Herbert Smith and Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in East Palestine.
