It breaks our hearts to tell you that Chris Nathan Hollis passed away on August 25, 2026, at 64 years young.
Chris was born right here in Alliance on May 30, 1962, and was a fixture in our community his whole life. He was the son of the late Jessie "Popeye" Hollis and his wonderful mother, Geraldine Hollis.
Music was Chris's passion a deep love that stayed with him his entire life. Beyond his musical talents and passion for chess, Chris was a natural-born athlete. From a young age, he showed incredible skill and passion, dominating on the basketball court, tearing up the football field, and mastering karate with a quiet determination.
Chris had such a big heart. He absolutely loved making people happy and going out of his way to lift them up, finding real joy in brightening someone's day.
He's now reunited with his dad, Jessie "Popeye" Hollis, and his brothers, Jeffrey and Kirby, who passed before him. Chris leaves behind his loving mom, Geraldine Hollis, his brothers Terry and Steve, and his dear sisters, Lynette and Carroll. And of course, his absolutely cherished children, Denisha Mays, Shaunqua Toney, Mar Hollis, Malakai Delgado, Sade Hollis, and Kristiana Hollis who meant the world to him.
A funeral service will be held at Second Baptist Church on Saturday, September 5th at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
