Charles Specht, age 81, of Alliance, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home.
He was born March 23, 1931, in Alliance, to Irvin J. and Jenny M. Specht.
A 1950 graduate of Alliance High School, Charlie worked as a troubleshooter/lineman with Ohio Edison (First Energy), retiring in 1991 after 35 years of service, and was a member of Beechwood Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley I. (Stanley) Specht whom he married May 21, 1954; sons, Scott Charles (Jackie) Specht of Mukilteo, Washington and John Garland (Lisa) Specht of Mason, Ohio; grandchildren, Jack, Allie, John and Chris; and siblings, Henry of Canton, Jack of Alliance, William of Florida, Irene Doyle of Maximo, and Virginia Zoss of Alliance.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dutch, Robert, Clara, Ruth, Anna Mae and Thelma.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Beechwood Christian Church with Pastor Mark A. Black officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
