Cerriana Ayissa Williamson, age 16, passed away on February 23, 2024 at Akron Children's Hospital after a long battle with a rare cancer (Pineoblastoma). She displayed unwavering bravery and grace throughout her fight.
Cerriana was in 11th grade at Alliance High School where she excelled academically as an honor roll student. From a young age, she participated in various sports such as basketball (2017-2018 League Champions), indoor soccer and ACSC outdoor soccer (2018 League Champions). She continued her athletic involvement into middle school on the soccer, basketball, cross country and track teams. She was also a member of the Carnation Twirlers. Her passion for sports and activities reflected her determination and drive to always do her best in everything she pursued.
Cerriana was always kind and respectful. She cared so much for others, always loving and quick to forgive. She had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party.
Beyond her academic and athletic achievements, Cerriana found solace in learning about God and reading bible verses every night. She attended the Hebron Mennonite Church; First Church of God in Alliance; Fellowship Baptist in Beloit and was active in the F.R.O.G children’s program at Alliance Friends Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and brought her comfort and strength during challenging times.
With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:3-4
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Melissa Lewis; and brother, Asher.
A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on March 10th Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on March 11th Monday at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Alliance City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to support Cerriana’s legacy, mindful of her brother’s Asher’s allergies. Contributions can be made through the funeral home’s online link.
The family would like to thank the Hebron Mennonite Church for all their love and support during Cerriana’s battle.
