Catherine Irene Broderick-Turner

Catherine Irene Broderick went home to the Lord on Easter morning April 5. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 27, 1948 to John L and Catherine E (Dixon) Broderick. Irene went peacefully after a long battle.

A follower of Jesus and devoted mother, Irene loved nothing more than to spend time with people. Be it lifelong friends or a stranger in line. Her father once remarked “Sister, you can’t go to the post office without making a friend.” Irene never missed a chance to use one of her father many one-liners or a quick quip to inject humor into the situation.

Irene lived a life of many careers and interests, a brilliant photographer, lover of music, and genius of home cooked meals. She enjoyed her years working at Trinity Episcopal Church and Alliance High School.

She boasted of her family’s long Irish heritage and also her family roots in Missouri. As the heart of every gathering, Irene’s love and laughter could fill any room. Her love and faith shaped many lives around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, J. Michael Broderick.

Irene is survived by her sons, Michael Sean (Marianne) Turner and Stephen J (Meghan) Turner, her brother J Patrick; sister, Kathleen Broderick; grandchildren, Kaela (Noah) Marsh, James (Camella) Geither, Mae Turner and Everett Turner. She leaves many relatives in Missouri.

Friends are invited for calling hours at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on April 14th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Internment will take place in Plattsburg, Missouri.
