Carol M. Kidd (nee Haidet), 72, of Alliance, a devoted animal lover and a woman of strong Christian faith, passed away at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, on Monday, June 15, 2026. She had suffered a heart attack two days prior.
Born on Oct. 12, 1953, in Alliance, Carol was the third among five children born to Lavere L. and Eileen A. Haidet (nee Boyce).
She was a graduate of Alliance High School and remained a lifelong resident of the Carnation City, where she worked in retail prior to her retirement.
Carol took great joy in reuniting lost pets with their owners. She was an administrator of a Facebook group dedicated to that cause: “Alliance, Ohio and surrounding areas PET SPOT.”
She cherished celebrating her faith in the Lord at Alliance Baptist Temple whenever possible, and kept God at the center of her daily life.
Carol was a free spirit who loved flying kites. She will be remembered for her brilliant blue eyes and unique way of inspiring smiles and laughter. Some of her loved ones will always remember her singing Bing Crosby’s Hawaiian Christmas song, “Mele Kalikimaka,” while wearing a hula skirt and handing out Hawaiian-style lei necklaces.
She always looked forward to annual family reunions for the Boyce and Kidd families. Her husband, Robert L. Kidd Sr., died Nov. 15, 2018. Her parents also preceded her in death.
Carol leaves her sisters, Sandy Peate (Chris) of North Canton, and Janice Hisle (Michael) near Cincinnati; brothers, Donald Haidet of Alliance and Kenneth Haidet in the Akron area; nephew, Ryan Haidet (Leah) near Akron; niece, Melissa Fouse, also of Akron; great-nieces, Daisy Fouse and Summer Fouse, both in the Akron area; step-son, Robert L. Kidd Jr. (Lynne); and step-grandson, Dillon Kidd, of Alliance.
A celebration of life is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Pastor Randy Payne will officiate.
She will be laid to rest privately at Highland Memorial Park alongside her late husband.
