Carol (Phillips) St. Clair

Carol Joyce (Phillips) St. Clair, age 82, of Sebring passed away at 7 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born December 4, 1934, in Oak Hill, West Virginia, to Joe Willis Phillips and Buala Natte Blake and has resided in the Deerfield/Sebring area since the 1970's.
Carol graduated in May of 1954 from Collins High School in West Virginia and shortly after married her high school sweetheart, Samuel "Jack" Jackson St. Clair on May 26, 1954.
She believed in giving back to her community and helping it grow. Her true passion was being a loving soul and she enjoyed laughing and being with family and friends. Carol was well known for her love of pigs, through her collection of pig figurines and piggy banks.
Carol was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Deerfield Civic Association, Deerfield Cemetery Association, and Deerfield Historical Society, Lions Club, Leisure Lads and Lacy, Portage County Democratic Party and the founder and former President of the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her siblings, Charlotte Phillips Weber of New Jersey and Clayton Mosley of West Virginia; daughters, Karen St. Clair (Robert Chambers) of Boardman, Doris (John) Miller of Warren and Jane Ann (Jeffery) Gorze of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Zachary Craven of Akron, Elizabeth (Troy) Arrington of Akron, Collin Chambers of Tampa, Florida, Devon Chambers of Youngstown, and Kari Ann Kleiman (Jones-St. Clair) (Eric) of Grafenwoehr, Germany; four great-grandchildren, Corinne, Jackson and Mason Arrington and Abigail Mae Kleiman; and special friends, Samuel "Jerry" and Patty Dorsey and family.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Chaplain David Parry officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Deerfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512 or to the American Diabetes Association 4500 Rockside Rd., Suite 440, Independence OH 44131.
