Carla Alysia Royster, 69, of Canton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. Carla was born August 11, 1954 in Alliance to the late Freddie Morris and William Townes.
Carla loved her family and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved cooking, watching Sara Jakes and spending time with her family, crafting, hosting gatherings, as well as shopping. Her special barbeque sauce was a delicacy amongst those who ordered it.
She is survived by children, Terris Baker of Canton, Travon (Jerrice) Baker Sr. of Alliance, and Travis Baker of Canton; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; siblings, Craig Townes, Brenda (Anthony) Townes-Aikens, Tammy Hosey, Iris Cundiff-Holston, Tracey Townes-Bennett, Leah Taylor, Michael Townes; special sisters, Patricia Baker, Lori Ann Hardy, Chele Marie Hardy, Candice Seals and Brinda Thomas; special brothers, Michael Baker and Lucius Baker; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; special friends, John Longmeyer, Boopey Dixon, Carliss Grinter, Cathy Clarke, Earlene Dailey and Linda Andrews; and two step-sons, Terred Tuck and Tremayne Baker.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Takia Baker and Tanisha Baker-Arnold; step-daughter, Leah Minor; husband, Duane Royster; mother, Freddie Morris; fathers, James Morris and William Townes; brothers, Bruce Townes and Darcell Watson; special sisters, Eva Edwards and Diane Sanders.
