Bruce W. Tullys went home to the healing arms of the Lord from Alliance Community Hospital, December 6, 2011, at 11:15 p.m.
Bruce was born August 26, 1942, in Alliance, Oh. to T.W. "Teak" Tullys and Florence (Turley) Tullys.
He graduated from Alliance High School and was a second generation career Alliance Firefighter following in the footsteps of his father.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Alliance Elks 467, and the IAFF Local 480, retired.
Bruce was an avid golfer and bowler, once scoring a perfect 300 game. He followed Marlington football, where his grandchildren attend, and Mount Union football, where he was an usher for many years. He enjoyed his C.B. radio hobby with his son-in-law and leaves behind many long-time friends from that hobby.
He lived an honorable life of bravery and generosity and will be remembered for his humor. His family and friends were the reason he kept up his fight to live, and his grandchildren were his angels.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Tullys, whom he married June 19, 1965; his daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Lewie DeVore, grandchildren, Lewis IV, Cole and Jessica DeVore; his brother, Joseph Tullys; nephew, Steven Tullys; niece, Julie Tullys; two great nieces, Sarah and Abigail; aunt, Agnes Mudrick; godson, Brett (Joanna) DeVore, and the DeVore family he loved so much.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Elwood and Clara Schmaeman; and several aunts.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams of Alliance Friends Church officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Marlington Horticulture, Attn: Mrs. Woods, 10450 Moulin Ave. Alliance, Oh. 44601, or to the Alliance Firefighter's Local 480 Annual Toy Drive, 63 E. Broadway St., Alliance, Oh. 44601.
