Bruce Byers

Bruce Byers, age 71, of Homeworth, formerly of Mentor, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 26, 2022.

He was born on October 2, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to Herschel and June (Ralph) Byers. Bruce graduated from Eastlake North High School and worked as an autoworker at GM for 31 years.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Salem where he was a deacon. Bruce was also a member of the Elks and Buckeye Freedom Jeep Club. He loved all sports and played softball most of his life. Bruce also enjoyed gardening and horses, but more than anything, he loved being a Papu. He will be dearly missed by his family whom he loved deeply.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lu Ann (Weaver) Byers whom he married on October 4, 1986; his children, Ryan (Dustie) Byers, Cory Byers, and Kaitlin Hull; his grandson, Ryker Hull; brothers; sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mark; and his brother-in-law, Gino. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30th from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and on Monday January 31st from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow. Pastor Justin Vance will officiate. Interment will be at Moultrie Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1779 Depot Rd, Salem, OH 44460 or a local humane society.
