Bonnie Dourm

Bonnie L. Dourm, age 61, of Alliance, died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, at her home.
She was born August 12, 1951, in Alliance, to Leroy and Evelyn (Weaver) Dourm.
A 1969 graduate of Marlington High School, Bonnie received her bachelor's in 1973 and master's in 1987, both from Kent State University. She was a library media specialist from 1975 to 1984 at Alliance High School and then a library media specialist and American History teacher at Wellsville High School for 26 years, retiring in 2010.
Bonnie was a member of the Beechwood United Methodist Church. Her memberships included the Alliance Area Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and Alliance Music Study Club. She was a former charter member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Beta Honorary society. She received four teacher awards from her students, and volunteered at Lexington Elementary School. Bonnie enjoyed traveling, reading and gardening.
Survivors include her sister, June Ramey of Canton; brother, Marvin (Cathy) Dourm of New Albany, IN; niece, Jean Ramey; nephew, Julian Ramey; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Dourm; niece Victoria; and nephew, Michael.
