Beatrice L. Detchon

Beatrice L. “Betty” Detchon, age 94, passed away on July 15, 2026. She was born on June 28, 1932, in Friendly, WV, to Edward and Cora (Williamson) Mikes.

Betty worked as a secretary at B&W Tubular Products for 42 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of First United Presbyterian church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 296.

Betty enjoyed gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas (Sally) Wiles; two grandchildren, Tom (Heather) Wiles and Lisa (Michael) Paulin; sister, Marjorie Harter; and many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Louise Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; four sisters; and four brothers.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m.
