Barbara Blair Standing

Barbara Blair Standing, age 74, of Alliance, passed away at her home at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

She was born April 15, 1947 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Howard and Ruth (Cartwright) Blair.

A 1967 graduate of Alliance High School, Barb worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Health Center, Coastal Pet Products, and later did custodial work at Concord.

She enjoyed cooking, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and tending her flower gardens. Barb also collected teddy bears and listening to her favorite country singer, Patsy Cline.

Barb will be missed by her family, including her husband, Ray Standing, whom she married July 9, 1970; daughter, Julia (Benjamin) Zurbrugg, of Webster, Texas; son, Todd Standing, of Alliance; brothers, John Boley of East Palestine, and Howard Bott of East Liverpool; sister, Vicki Kulhman of Columbiana, Karen Dabney of Canton, and Brenda Blair of Alliance; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Gary Thomas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2022 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
