Barbara J. Raber

Barbara J. (Carr) Raber, age 94, of Alliance, passed away on August 25, 2026.

She was born on November 1, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, to Harry L. and Dorothy (Shutts) Carr.

A graduate of Louisville High School, Barbara was a 75 year member of Salem United Methodist Church in Alliance, where she also worked for 16 years as a custodian.

She was also a member of the Farm Bureau Council, where she served as the 4-H advisor for 19 years, and the Washington Township Women’s Club.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, reading, and attending church, but mostly loved her time with family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, David (Taryn) Raber, Cheryl (Tom) Dragomir, Daniel (Judy) Raber, and Darren (Sue) Raber; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwayne W. Raber, whom she married June 29, 1952, and who passed away on January 9, 2014; and brother, Ronald Carr.

A private family graveside service will be held at Salem Greenlawn Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at Salem Community Church on November 1st at 2:00 p.m.
