Barbara Jean Merriman

Barbara Jean Merriman, age 85, passed away on August 26, 2025.

She was born on October 10, 1939, in Alliance, to Michael and Norma (Walters) Burnett.

Barbara graduated from Alliance High School. She worked in kitchens at nursing homes. Barbara was a member of Bolton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ted Merriman, Bob Merriman and Debbie Watson; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Joyce) Buchanan; and sister, Elva (Richard) Fodor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter S. Merriman; son, Jon Merriman; daughter, Kay Morris; and grandson, Daniel Lee Lucas Jr.

A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, August 29th 4:00-6:00 p.m.
