Aurelia D. Dobrila

Aurelia D. Dobrila, age 89, of Alliance passed away on August 2, 2021.

She was born on March 7, 1932 in Arpasu De Sus, Romania to Gheorghe and Maria (Simion) Dates.  Aurelia moved to Alliance in May of 1991. She then moved to Florida in 2002, returning to Alliance in April of 2007.

During her years in Alliance, Aurelia worked for Phil’s Greenhouse, Buckeye Village Bakery and Heggy’s. She was a member of St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are several cousins, nieces and nephews including Doina and Nelu Rosu from Făgăraș, Romania; Lucian and Miorita and family from London England; Dragos and Dana from London, England; and Vali from Arpașu De Jos, Romania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gheorghe and Maria Dates; her husband, Ion Dobrila; sisters, Mary Gainor and Victoria Vienna; and nephew, Dr. Virgil Vulcu.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 6th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Saracusta service at 7:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church.   A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church officiated by the Rev. Fr. Pantelimon Stanciu with a burial to follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
