Ann (Sandi) Popa, age 94, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012, at Acoma Health Care in Scottsdale, AZ.
She was born to Maria and Irmie Sandi on January 13, 1918, in Alliance, Ohio. Ann graduated from Alliance High School in 1937. She and her family moved to Palmdale, CA and then to Arizona.
Ann worked for Alliance First National Bank during her early years and Nationwide Insurance in Columbus. She retired as Personnel Manager at Woolworth's in Palmdale, CA.
She was a 35 year member of the Palmdale Woman's Club. After retirement she enjoyed volunteering and playing dominos.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; one sister, Victoria (Sandi) Muntean and two brothers, John and Jacob.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Dayton) of Scottsdale, AZ, son, John (Robin), of Gulf Shores, AL; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, January 3, 2013, in the Chapel at Alliance City Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Pantelimon Stanciu officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, 1621 S. Sawburg Rd., Alliance, OH 44601.
