Linda L. Gilfort

Linda L. (Nicholson) Gilfort, age 69, of Alliance, passed away at 6:51 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at her home.
She was born August 16, 1948, in Alliance, Ohio, to Robert and Barbara (Babb) Nicholson.
Linda was a 1966 graduate of Alliance High School and retired as a banker.
She was a lifelong member of the 2nd Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She loved reading Black history books, watching westerns on TV and shopping.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara Pittman of Detroit, Michigan; son, Dan Gilfort of Raleigh, North Carolina; granddaughters, Carlisle and Ashleigh Gilfort of Tampa, Florida; brothers, Robert Nicholson II of Alliance, Terry Nicholson of Akron, and Wayne Nicholson of Detroit; sisters, Janet Stovall of Alliance, Diane Magee of Mississippi and April Durham of Detroit; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Nicholson and brother, Dale Nicholson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Willie Bell officiating. Friends may call beginning at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Per Linda's request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for her granddaughters' college fund.
