Irvin Ray McDonald

Irvin "Ray" McDonald, age 92, of Alliance, passed away at 10:05 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his home.
He was born March 15, 1926, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, to Sherman and Hattie (Corle) McDonald.
Ray loved being outdoors.
Survivors include his daughter, Gloria (Melvin) Sweger of Berlin Center; sons, Wayne McDonald of the home, Terry (Paula) McDonald of Altoona, Pennsylvania and Jeffrey (Debbie) McDonald of Bedford, Pennsylvania; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Fred (Shirley) McDonald of Claysburg, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Vernetta (Hainsey) McDonald, whom he married May 17, 1945 and would have celebrated 60 years of matrimony before her passing on February 22, 2005; grandson, Michael Valentine; sister, Dora Mae McDonald; and brother, Emil McDonald.
Services will be held at Noon, Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Teague of Truth Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m.-Noon prior to the service. Interment will be at Beechwood Cemetery.
